Jesus Saves (Not Us)

“…for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes…”

Romans 1:16

Dear Journey Family…

Pastor Brian shared the following.

“As I share with somebody about the gospel, can I actually win them to Jesus? I cannot. Is it the cool words that I might use or the stories that connect? Will that make all the difference? It won’t. If you believe like I believe, Jesus is the only one who makes a difference; that He is the only one who can save.

Nobody who has ever come to faith came to faith through someone else. They truly came to faith through Jesus Christ himself.”

Romans 1:16-17 says:

‘For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.” '

The best thing I can share with someone, the best message I can share with anyone, the most encouraging words I can share with people is not whatever catchphrase, cliché or motivational sentence I read on a meme. The best word I can give someone is God’s word, starting with the gospel, which is the power of God for salvation as Paul said there in Romans 1.

That’s another reason why I need to keep His word memorized; so I can have it handy whenever the occasion and the Holy Spirit is moving in me to share with someone.

Where is the power of your words coming from?

See you there!

Thanksgiving Communion Service

It’s here again. Thanksgiving. What are you doing? If you are staying in town, we hope you can join us on Sunday at 10am for our Thanksgiving Sunday and Communion Service.

We are thankful for everyone of you that has made it possible to continue doing this ministry, sharing His word, encouraging one another and growing in the knowledge of He who was willing to die for us.

You can also bring someone along. We’ll be thankful for that as well.

December - Christmas Sunday Morning Series

And since we are on the theme of Christmas, we invite you to join us at Journey every Sunday morning in December for a celebration and remembrance of the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. The theme is "Hope, Joy, Peace, Love". Feel free to invite your family and friends and make it an eventful month.

On Sunday the 24th, Christmas Eve, we will have a special Sunday morning church service titled "Hope, Joy, Peace, Love - A Journey Kids Christmas Musical". For weeks, our Journey Kids have been busy rehearsing and getting ready. They will be performing a lovely musical, providing a great opportunity to invite your loved ones.

In the evening at 5pm, we will have our Christmas Eve Candle Service and Choir Concert. This will be a time for us to come together and embrace the true Christmas spirit.

We hope you can join us as we end this year together as a family of Christ.

That’s all we have for now - it’s your turn to let us know what your thoughts are.

If you have anything that we can help with in prayer, please let us know.

We’d love to pray with you and for you.
